Calculating Area for Different Roof Shapes
Roof surface area depends on the roof geometry and steepness:
- Gable Roof: Two sloping planes meeting at a central ridge. Area = Footprint × Pitch Multiplier.
- Shed / Mono-Slope Roof: Single sloping plane. Area = Span × Length × Pitch Multiplier.
- Flat Roof: Zero slope. Area = Length × Width.
